Be YOUnique!

I'm a big blog reader. I have a "bookmarks" list a mile long that I filter through pretty much daily and at the very least weekly. I do this for inspiration as well as to keep the creative juices flowing at all times!

As I was reading today, one of my many stops is a friend and fellow Photog, Todd Pellowe. He wrote a great post today about things he would like to see at weddings in 2009. He had some great ideas of things that are out of the norm, yet SO fun and unique! I LOVE this! I LOVE unique! I LOVE different!

Personally, I'm not a very traditional person. I don't like to do things because "that's how they've always been done". Maybe you like traditional, then GREAT! As long as its what YOU want. It's YOUR wedding day and one of the most important days of your life. Make it what you want it to be! Be fun, be creative, be YOU!

Courageous Faith!

Not long ago, in one of my classes, I learned about a martyr for the faith named Polycarp. He was a disciple of the Apostle John and bishop in Smyrna around A.D. 156. When faced with death at the hands of Romans if he did not reject Christ, this was his response:

"Eighty and six years have I served him, and he never once wronged me; how then shall I blaspheme my King, Who hath saved me?"

When told that he would be burned at the stake he replied:

"You threaten me with fire, which burns for an hour, and is soon extinguished; but the fire of the future judgment, and of eternal punishment reserved for the ungodly, you are ignorant of. But why do you delay? Do whatever you please."

Oh to have a faith so sure as this!

God Is Good

Can I just say that again...God is so good. I paid a ridiculously low amount for school this semester. God don't care to provide!

That Would Be Awesome!

Today has been a good day. After church this afternoon I came back to the room and was able to punch out a what ended up being a seven page paper of my experience this past summer with Freedom Church. It wasn't hard, I've got so much running through my head of things I learned this summer it's crazy. Anyways, I had about two pages done, but bulk of it was done today. It felt good to get it out of the way. Now I can start working on this semester's work...

Anyways...I was reading this blog the other day and was really encouraged by this (different blog) post but I also came across an amazing opportunity that would be stinkin sweet, one I will perhaps keep in mind for the future. Check it out here.

Stevie Flockhart

Just a note... Any of you who love good music, you need to check out Stevie Flockhart's website! I met Stevie this summer and was able to hear him lead worship and he is awesome! He just got finished recording a CD which will be out in August! You can listen to some of it here. I've been listening to it while I piece my room together and its amazing! Keep it up Stevie!
