-Porcini's-
Took Jenny to eat at Porcini's tonight, a little Italian place on Frankfort Ave. It's just down the road from her apartment so we were able to walk which was nice because the weather was SO beautiful despite a day of clouds and drizzle. It was a well needed break and it was so nice to get to spend some uninterrupted time with Jen!

Free To Succeed - Take Aways
So as mentioned, the Free To Succeed Tour was awesome! It was challenging, encouraging, inspiring, and overwhelming all at the same time...obviously well worth it! David Jay is probably one of the most genuine/humble guys I've ever met, which added so much to the training!
I could go on and on about the things I learned but I'll just give you a few take aways...

-Lucy...A Tribute-
May I introduce you to Lucy. Last week my roommate and I had the opportunity to "dog-sit" for a friend of ours while he was on vacation...Lucy is probably one of the most well trained dogs I've ever known and it was truly a joy to have her company for the week...needless to say...we are lonely now :(
We tried to come up with ways to fake her death so we could secretly keep her around, but conscience wouldn't allow...sadly. I think one of the things I enjoyed the most was the warm, excited welcome I got whenever I got home, whether I was gone all day or for just 5 minutes...comparatively, Emil's greetings are a vast disappointment...anyways, here is a small tribute to our furry friend!

-Good Quote-
Heard a good quote on the Dave Ramsey show yesterday by Charles Kingsley:
"There are two freedoms: the false where man is free to do what he wants, and the true where man is free to do what he ought..."

Parkin-it!
After work yesterday, Jenny and I decided to have a small pick nick in the park. The weather has been SO nice here with lows in the 60's to highs in the low 80's in the day...PERFECT for a stroll in the park!
Today...its my day off...how nice! I have plenty to do however, but trying to keep it slow! Tonight Jenny and I are gonna head over to Dorm Meeting at Boyce for old time's sake! Can't wait!

A Couple More For Fun!
With the gentlemen!
Fun at the reception!
Some laughs before they walk down the isle.
Taking a few breaths before her vows.
Suspicion as josh cracks a joke!

-Biographies-
Since my work schedule has been so crazy lately, reading has kind of fallen to the wayside. This is changing however! I really hope to begin taking regular time each week to get away and just read...no computers!
For a while now, I've been wanting to read a good biography and one that was recommended to me was The Legacy of Sovereign Joy by John Piper, covering the lives of Augustine, Luther, and Calvin. All of these men I have come to respect highly already but and extremely excited to learn more about the lives of these "flawed saints" as Piper says!
Today I was encouraged my some words from Augustine at his conversion concerning the sin he once clung to:
Why do we seek satisfaction from those things that will never satisfy when we could be fully satisfied by Him who IS ALL satisfying?

"How sweet all at once it was for me to be rid of those fruitless joys which I had once feared to lose...! You drove them from me, you who are the true, the sovereign joy. You drove them from me and took their place, you who are sweeter than all pleasure...O Lord my God, my Light, my Wealth, and my Salvation!
Why do we seek satisfaction from those things that will never satisfy when we could be fully satisfied by Him who IS ALL satisfying?

-Daily Outlook-
I have a full day off today which would not normally be a good thing, but I'll definitely take advantage of it today! After a nice run this morning, some time with the Lord, and a good breakfast its time to get crackin! There are phone calls to make, errands to run, and pictures to edit...all the while trying to keep it slow! It's sometimes hard to be diligent and yet keep the proper mental perspective while not get overwhelmed. There is always learning to be done!
