That's Right Boys....She's Mine!!
Sorry for the laps in blogging lately...I've been a LITTLE preoccupied.
You see, last night I had the opportunity to ask the women of my dreams to marry me! Until a little over a year ago I didn't know a women existed that was so perfect for me, then Jenny Lee Warren came alllllllll the way from Texas to little ole Louisville to go to school where I happened to go as well. I was immediately interested began to look for opportunities to get to know her. She has the sweetest spirit of anyone I've ever met and is the epitome of a "gentle and quiet spirit" as I Peter 3:4 says! Lest you think this makes someone drab...she's also goofy and tons of fun! Making her laugh is one of my favorite things! Words cannot express how excited and blessed I am to get to spend the rest of my life with her!!
How's that for sappy? Don't care a bit!! :)

-Great Illustration-
Ok...so I don't get into politics here hardly ever, but I thought this story was a great demonstration of one of the key issues dividing this years Presidential Campaign...Think about it!
Learning to "take" is easy, learning to "make" is not.
A young woman was about to finish her first year of college. Like so
many others her age, she considered herself to be a very liberal minded
adult, with liberal ideals, was very much in favor of higher taxes to
support more government programs (read that: redistribution of wealth).
She was deeply ashamed that her father was a rather staunch
conservative, a feeling she openly expressed. Based on the lectures that she
had participated in, and the occasional chat with a professor, she felt that
her father had for years harbored an evil, selfish desire to keep what was
his.
One day she was challenging her father on his opposition to higher
taxes on the rich and the need for more government programs which would in
turn help "everyone". She believed that the self-professed objectivity
proclaimed by her professors had to be the truth ... and she indicated so to
her father. He responded by asking how she was doing in school.
Taken aback, she answered rather haughtily that she had a 4.0 GPA,
and let him know that it was tough to maintain, insisting that she was
taking a very difficult course load and was constantly studying, which left
her no time to go out and party like other people she knew. She didn't even
have time for a boyfriend, and didn't really have many college friends
because she spent all her time studying.
Her father listened and then asked, "How is your friend Audrey
doing?" She replied, "Audrey is barely getting by. All she takes are easy
classes! She never studies, and she barely has a 2.0 GPA. She is very
popular on campus; college for her is a blast. She's always invited to the
parties and lots of times she doesn't even show up for classes because she's
too hung over."
Her wise father said to his daughter, "I think the proper thing for
you is to go down to the Dean's office and ask him to deduct 1.0 off your
GPA and give it to your friend who only has that 2.0. That way, you'll both
end up with decent grades. Certainly that would be a fair and equal
distribution of GPA right?."
The daughter, visibly shocked by her father's suggestion, angrily
fired back, "That's a crazy idea, and how would that be fair?! I've worked
really hard for my grades! I've invested a lot of time, and a lot of hard
work! Audrey has done next to nothing toward her degree. She's played
around while I've worked my tail off!"
The father slowly smiled, winked and said gently, "Welcome to the
Republican party!!" Oh and one more thing; if you did gave Audrey that 1.0,
-- do ya think she would respect and protect it like you do??

Satisfied...
Pixs soon to come of the fun weekend with my buddy but for now, here's a great quote from some reading I was able to do last night at Starbucks...
Additional thought...how foolish is it of us to ever consider His commandments burdensome, which we do frequently, when they are for our own good! Truly we are misguided and confused!
"Loving God is being so satisfied in God and so delighted in all that he is for us that his commandments cease to be burdensome." -John Piper
